During the last dekad of July 2017 (21st - 31st), South Western subregion and Southern Cattle corridor experienced dry conditions due to the influence of the regular cycle of dry season in July. By constrast, several areas in the proximity of Lake Victoria had some rains and this was a relief from the searing dry conditions. The highest amount of rainfall received was 198.3mm at Buginyanya Agrometeorological station in Bulambuli district followed by 148.5 mm at Nyapea Sub-County rainfall station in Zombo District and 140.1 mm at Bulengeni satellite rainfall station in Mbale distirict.
